True Humility

The fragrance of holiness…

St. Francis did not become holy because he thought little of himself. He became holy because he thought little about himself. True humility is not pretending you are worthless. It is knowing that every gift, every grace, every breath comes from God and using it to love others instead of glorifying yourself. St Francis could preach to crowds, rebuild churches, and inspire thousands, yet he still chose the hidden place. He embraced poverty, served lepers, listened more than he spoke, and never chased admiration. The closer he grew to God, the less he needed to prove himself to the world.

Humility is quiet strength.
It does not compete.
It does not need to dominate conversations, seek applause, or constantly defend its image.

A humble soul is free from pride,
free from comparison,
free from the exhausting need to be seen.

St. Francis teaches us that holiness begins when the ego becomes smaller and love becomes greater. The world says: “Promote yourself.” St Francis says: “Empty yourself so God can fill you.” And strangely, that is where real peace begins.
