From the desire of being esteemed, deliver me O Jesus

Litany Of Humility

O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed, deliver me O Jesus (…)
Litany Of Humility

St. Francis understood that the need to be admired can quietly enslave the soul. The more we hunger for applause, recognition, and approval, the more fragile our peace becomes. St Francis chose another way. He wanted to belong completely to God, not to the opinions of the crowd. That is why he embraced humility, not thinking less of himself, but thinking of himself less. There is a strange freedom that comes when you no longer need to prove your worth to everyone.

You stop performing.
You stop competing.
You stop building your identity on praise that can disappear overnight.

The saints teach us that holiness grows quietly. Like roots hidden beneath the earth. Deep. Silent. Real. May we learn to do good without needing to be seen, to love without needing recognition, and to walk humbly enough that God alone is enough.

🔹 Do good quietly. Not every act of kindness needs to be posted, announced, or noticed.
🔹 Learn to accept being overlooked. Humility grows when we stop needing constant recognition.
🔹 Speak less about yourself. Ask questions. Listen deeply. Make room for others.
🔹 Serve where nobody applauds. The hidden sacrifices often shape the soul the most.
🔹 Let God define your worth. People’s opinions change quickly. God’s love does not.

St. Francis teaches us that the soul becomes lighter when it no longer lives for human praise. St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us
