A simple life that leads to the Father

‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’
+ John 14:6

St Francis heard these words and let them redefine everything. He didn’t look for shortcuts, alternatives, or comfortable versions of faith. He chose the narrow road, because he knew it led to something real.

Jesus doesn’t say He shows the way. He says He is the way. Not advice. Not inspiration. A person to follow.

St Francis understood this: you don’t find God by collecting ideas, you find Him by walking with Christ, even when it strips you, humbles you, and asks more than you planned to give.

  • Stop negotiating with truth. We often reshape truth to fit our comfort. Instead, let Jesus shape you. Even when it’s uncomfortable, choose what is real over what is easy.
  • Follow, don’t just admire. It’s easy to respect Jesus from a distance. Harder to actually obey Him. Start small, but be real about it.
  • Detach to go deeper. St Francis let go of what distracted his heart. Ask yourself: What is quietly taking the place of God in my life?
  • Pray like it matters, because it does. Sit in silence. Let Him meet you there. Let your life point somewhere higher.
  • Your words, your choices, your presence, do they lead people closer to truth, or just deeper into noise?

Following Jesus isn’t about adding something to your life. It’s about letting Him become the centre of it.

St Francis shows us: when Christ becomes your way, you don’t get lost even when the road is hard.
